Abstract:

Although Modernity is a phenomenon which has affected the Western World for five centuries, not all of it has been affected in the same way. That’s the reason why it is interesting to show some considerations which have influenced on the origin of Spanish Modernity, and have been very important in the development of the middle- and upper- class Latin American urban subject. The way in which Spain has participated in the gestation of the Modern State and the concomitant right, language, ethic and techno-scientific knowledge formalization process, and its impact on Ibero America is analyzed in this article.
